More Interesting Amazon News

Salon.com reported yesterday Amazon.com has at least a minor (more likely major) financial interest in 43 Things.

If you haven't been to 43 Things, it is a pretty interesting site. Anyone can create a list their hopes and dreams, and the cool part is you can see others who have the same hopes and dreams you do. It is building off the growing phenomenon of tagging (or the fancy term is folksonomy).

The question the article raises is "Would people continue all the sharing if they knew they were telling it all to Amazon?" Honestly, I think the answer is yes. They do a great job at predicting what you want based on what you have bought. Imagine what they could do if you explicitly told them.
