In Personal Development - 800 CEO Read Blog
Bren at Slacker Manager talks about how You're In Charge -- Now What? inspired him to develop a 100 Day Plan for a position he was interviewing for. The cool part is he shared his plan with each of the people he was interviewing with.
Anyone else pulled a nice nugget out of a book lately and applied it quickly to their life?

In General Management - 800 CEO Read Blog
Forbes reported in their February 14th issue that there is little tiff between a couple of business book authors.
Michael Watkins says his book The First 90 Days is too similar to You're In Charge-Now What? by Thomas Neff and James Citrin. One says "Extensive parallels" and the other says "Outrageous". The story goes on to say there are lots of threats of lawsuits between various parties.

In Leadership - 800 CEO Read Blog
In the January 24th issue, Fortune is running an excerpt from You're In Charge - Now What?: The 8 Point Plan by Thomas Neff and James Citrin.
The 8 Rules for the first 100 days include:
- Listen
- Resist the savior syndrome
- Keep it simple
- Hit pause
- Look for quick wins
- Spell it out
- Don't dis your predecessor
- Give feedback
It looks like a good book for someone taking on a new role. I think it is stuff everyone know, but it is goood to think about them in the context of being a new position.
