Poster #1: Industry is Ripe for Reinvention
"Any Industry is Ripe for Reinvention" was inspired by Michaels Lewis' book Moneyball, which chronicles the unexpected success of a small-market baseball team, The Oakland A's. The A's manager, Billy Beane, used unusual metrics to find the best players because his team could not compete monetarily with those in bigger markets. Baseball fanatic and 800-CEO-READ's resident artist, Dylan Schleicher, sketched images of three other industries that have changed their stripes over the years, in a helpful reminder to find new, lean, and creative ways to conduct your business.

<a href="/book/show/POSTER02-Drive_Pushes_Passion_Pulls"Poster #2: Drive Pushes/Passion Pulls
Author Randy Komisar writes about his book The Monk and the Riddle: The Art of Creating a Life While Making a Living: #The Monk is not primarily a business book; that is, it is not about buying low and selling high, but rather about creating a life while making a living. It is about the need to fashion a meaningful existence that engages you in the time and place in which you find yourself. It is about the purpose of work and the integration of what one does with what one believes# (xv). This desirable integration is represented in the phrase, "Drive Pushes/Passion Pulls," because you need both to be successful and Milwaukee photographer, Kat Berger, created this poster reflecting these separate but essential forces.

<a href="/book/show/POSTER03-Manage_Actions__Not_Time_"Poster #3: Manage Actions. Not Time.
In our review of David Allen's Getting Things Done, we explain that Allen's organizational system "shifts the focus from the commonly defined problems of time, information, and priorities, to action with a capital A. By defining and managing actions, ambiguous tasks are turned into clear next steps." Graphic artist and Chicagoen Joy Panos Stauber created a chaotic pile of As that are emblematic of the many items on a to-do list that never get done. These items are then carefully organized, step-by-step into achievement--with a capital A.

<a href="/show/POSTER04-Be_Remarkable__People_Will_Talk_"Poster #4: Be Remarkable. People Will Talk.
In Purple Cow, marketing guru Seth Godin wants you to shed your fear and do something different to get people talking. #My goal in Purple Cow is to make it clear that it is safer to be risky#to fortify your desire to make truly amazing things. Once you see that the old ways have nowhere to go other than down, it becomes even more imperative to create things worth talking about.# Maine painter Mya-Lisa King interpreted our take on Godin's message, "Be Remarkable. People Will Talk.", in this bright painting of a businessman dirt surfing through city streets on his way to work, to inspire everyone to be bold and do the unexpected.
