My boss leaned back
in her chair
as she said,
“Don’t I wish!
If I were one of them,
things would be
a lot different around here.
But they haven’t seen fit
to include me in their group.
Like you, I just work here.”
“Well, then,”
I asked,
“Can you tell me
who they are …
and where I can find them?”
“You know,”
she replied,
“They’re the guys who run this place --
the people who make
the daily decisions.
They’re always in charge.
Go upstairs
where the senior managers work.
I’m pretty sure
that’s where they are.”
