So down to the union hall
I taxied,
hoping that
it wasn’t too late
already.
The taxi driver
was gruff
but friendly.
“You in town
on business or pleasure?”
he asked,
peering at me
in his rearview mirror.
“Business,”
I replied,
“Serious business.”
“Yeah?”
he replied,
an eyebrow raised.
“Yeah,”
I nodded,
“I’m hoping soon
to talk to them.”
