Steve Farber/Radical Edge Interview

This week we have a great interview with Steve Farber, author of The Radical Edge. This is his sophomore release and a great follow-up to The Radical Leap. Farber again brings us a business novella with a great set of characters. The subtitle will give you an idea of the plotline: Stoke Your Business, Amp Your Life, and Change The World. If each of those feels daunting, listen to the interview and hear what Steve has to say. You'll feel better.

Joesph Badaracco/Questions of Character Interview

In our latest podcast, I interview Joesph Badaracco, author of Questions of Character: Illuminating the Heart of Leadership Through Literature. In each chapter deals with a leadership question such as "Am I Ready To Take Responsibility" or "Are My Role Models Unsettling?" With each question, he has chosen a piece of fiction whose character(s) deal with the same dilemma. In the case of the two questions above, Badaracco chose The Secret Sharer by Joesph Conrad and Blessed Assurance by Allen Garganus.

In the interview, we talk about the use of fiction in teaching leadership, some books that he didn't use in QoC, and movies that can do some of the same work.

Hard Facts Interview with Jeff Pfeffer and Bob Sutton

This week, I am talking with Jeff Pfeffer and Bob Sutton. They have a great new book out called Hard Facts, Dangerous Half-Truths, and Total Nonsense: Profiting From Evidence-Based Managment.

I really like this book and have made it my Must-Read for this Spring. Let me also recommend their 2000 book The Knowing Doing Gap.

In this interview, we talk about making decisions based on facts, wisdom, and where GM executives get their cars.
