Paper Fish/Jonathon Flaum Interview

In this interview, I talk with Jonathon Flaum, author of How The Paper Fish Learned To Swim: A Fable About Inspiring Creativity And Bringing New Ideas to Life.

The book begins with a fable about a young origami master named Daishinji, who creates a fish so real that it comes to life. Jonathon starts the podcast by reading the fable. We then talk about innovation, approaching innovation without a goal, and the crippling effect fear has on creativity.

This is Jonathon's second visit to the Podcast Blog. He co-wrote a book last year with his father Sander called 100 Mile Walk and we talked with the both of them when the book came.

Stephen Covey Interview

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Stephen Covey. He was out supporting a new book he worked on called Everyday Greatness: Inspiration for a Meaningful Life. This was a project he worked where he worked with David Hatch and Reader's Digest.

You might compare the book to Chicken Soup for the Soul. The richness of this book was drawn from 80 years worth of Reader's Digest material. There are stories from some people you know, but many more from those you don't

Stephen also makes the point there is a overarching philosophy for this book. He says there are three choices people make every day: choice to act, choice of purpose, choice of principles. The structure and material of the book support those ideas.

This is a short one and worth the listen. The last three minutes are my favorite.
