Fast Facts for the Oncology Nurse - Cancelled: Oncology Nursing Orientation in a Nutshell

By Stephanie Lucas

Using the "Fast Facts" compact, reader-friendly format, this book provides a solid foundation for nurses new to the cancer and oncology specialty and articulates clear guidelines for delivery of safe and effective patient care. It is the only reference book that simplifies the complex body of knowledge required for nursing care of this population. The book is divided into four main sections that encompass an introduction to the field, cancer diagnosis, cancer treatment, and complications of cancer and its treatment. With an emphasis on simplifying difficult-to-understand topics, information is presented in a consistent, bullet-style format. Short case studies integrated throughout the book enhance learning, along with specific objectives at the beginning of each chapter and a short quiz at the end of each chapter.

The book is designed for bedside nurses who work on adult inpatient oncology and medical/surgical units or outpatient oncology settings. It will help nurses new to this specialty to safely and effectively care for their patients.
